2019 Round 3 - Natcap Rally

MTA NSW Rally Championship 2019 Round 3 NATCAP Rally, Canberra, ACT 11 May

The NATCAP Rally held in the ACT on 11 May would see Glen Raymond and Kate Catford leave their mark on the MTA NSW Rally Championship. Winning every stage during the afternoon and completely dominating the race, making it three from three!! “It is pretty exciting down here in Canberra, Kate did an amazing job those notes were just coming out consistently, but I must admit these last 2 stages, I pushed just a little bit more just to make sure I had some good times so the other boys could go do some homework,” said Raymond.

Tristan Kent driving the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, gave his all to keep up with Raymond, finally adjusting to his pace notes and finishing the heat in 3rd, and the overall event in 2nd outright saying, “pretty wrapped 3 Podiums from 3 starts this year so, the new car is going well, I guess. Slowly getting my head around it.”

Richard Shimmon had finished heat 1 in 4th and then continued to do the same in the 2nd heat, with his consistency rewarded with a 3rd outright. “Well once we’d done a couple of stages today, we knew that we were here for points so, we kept it on the middle of the road and we are pretty happy,” said Shimmon. Tom Clarke battled obstacles in Heat 1 but was back for Heat 2 and pushed hard to ‘bring it’ to Raymond, ending the 4 afternoon stages with good times but not good enough for the win, having to settle for second in the heat.

MTA NSW again congratulates the team of Glen Raymond and Kate Catford, along with all the competing teams.
