MTA NSW Interviewed on Channel 7 News Regarding Petrol Drive Offs From Services Stations
Colin Long, Senior Divisional Manager – Service Stations for MTA NSW was interviewed on Channel 7 news on Monday 25th
June 2018 in regards to an announcement in Victoria that a trial is to
be conducted using hi-tech cameras to capture number plate detail into a
data base.
The Victorian trial is to focus on service station forecourts,
shopping centres and hospital carparks where drive offs occur by people
not paying. As part of the trial, perpetrators will be followed up by
Victorian Police and the Victorian Justice Department.
The concept is likely to be introduced into NSW as well, following the assessment of the Victorian trial by the NSW Government.
MTA NSW supports all initiatives to catch petrol drive off offenders.
