MTA NSW Attends Capricorn NSW Tradeshow
Motor Traders’ Association of NSW ‘revved’ up their attendance at the 2019 Capricorn Tradeshow held at the ICC Sydney on Saturday 23 November.
The annual Capricorn NSW Dinner and Tradeshow featured over 58 automotive suppliers who took advantage of the opportunity to present their services and network with Capricorn Members at the tradeshow. The MTA NSW stand highlighted the Associations’ benefits of membership and apprenticeship / traineeship qualifications available.
In attendance was MTA NSW Area Manager, Darren Morris, and MTA NSW Trainer, Mario Borg, who kindly loaned his 1976 Holden LX Torana SS Hatchback to display on the MTA NSW stand. This vehicle had been fully stripped down to a bare shell and back to bare metal, with the body work redone, rolled on its side and repainted satin black underneath, then painted inside and out. All new or reconditioned parts were repainted and fitted to the vehicle with a total restoration time of just under 5 years to complete.

The LX Torana, fitted with a 5 Litre V8 and 4 speed manual, attracted strong interest, and is an excellent example of the skill level and passion demonstrated by MTA NSW Trainers.
“It is so important that employers realise MTA NSW Training can offer them training and apprenticeship support, whether it is in the Sydney metropolitan area or even if they are based outside in regional NSW. MTA NSW trainers do travel to regional areas and often many hundreds of kilometres away from Sydney, to train our MTA NSW registered Apprentices,” said Matthew Webster, MTA NSW Senior Manager – Training Policy and Strategy.
